Pages and Frames

  • Pages in Figma are found on the left panel, allows creating multiple pages (e.g., Home, About, Contact);
  • You can rename pages by double-clicking on their names, and change background colors for visual differentiation;
  • Background color changes do not affect the actual design. But they can be good for presentation;
  • Each tool has grouped options, indicated by a small arrow;
  • Tool-specific settings appear in the Design Panel when a tool is selected (e.g., Frame, Text, or Shape tools).

Difference Between Pages and Frames:

  • Pages: blank canvases or workspaces where you organize your work; equivalent to a blank sheet in Word or Illustrator;
  • Frames: act as artboards for placing designs; can be custom-sized or selected from presets. Frames appear as layers in the Layers panel and are used to structure your designs.

Some useful shortcuts:

  • Zoom: hold Ctrl/Command + Mouse Wheel to zoom in/out;
  • Hand Tool: hold the Spacebar to move around the canvas freely.

Use pages for organization and frames to layout and design specific components or screens.
