Downloading Google Sheets

You'll learn how to save a document on your device in various formats, making it easier to access files offline and use them outside of Google Drive.

  • Go to the File menu → Download;
  • Select a file format for export:
    • Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) – this format is very similar to Google Sheets, as it supports all formulas, charts, and formatting, allowing for seamless editing in Excel;
    • OpenDocument Format (.ods);
    • PDF – this format saves the document in a fixed layout for consistent display on any device, ideal for printing, but does not allow for content editing or support interactive elements;
    • Web Page (.html);
    • CSV – this format is a text file with comma-separated data, ensuring high compatibility and easy processing, though it does not retain formatting or formulas, making it suitable only for simple tables;
    • TSV.
