Pen Tool

  • The Pen Tool is found in the toolbar at the bottom. It creates shapes by connecting two points (or nodes);
  • A circle icon appears when completing a shape to close it;
  • Shapes drawn by the pen tool have a stroke by default with no fill;
  • To draw curves, click and drag to create handles;
  • Handles control the curvature; one handle affects the previous curve, the other the upcoming curve;
  • Use Alt/Option to break handles for independent control;
  • Hold Shift while dragging handles to snap them to vertical, horizontal, or 45° angles;
  • Use Ctrl/Command to access the bend tool for converting straight lines to curves or modifying nodes;
  • You can remove or add handles by hovering over nodes while still holding Ctrl/Command;
  • While using the pen tool, you're in an "isolation mode." Figma sees created shapes as one until you exit with Escape.

This is the link to the website mentioned for practicing the Pen Tool. This game will significantly help in developing proficiency with this tool. Hope you have fun with it!
