Clear Formatting and Paint Format Tools

Using Paint Format

Paint Format allows you to copy formatting from one cell and apply it to another. This is useful for quickly applying the same styles to multiple cells.

Select the cell or range of cells with the formatting you want to copy.

  • On the toolbar, click the Paint format icon (paintbrush);
  • After that, select the cell or range of cells where you want to apply the copied formatting.

If you highlight multiple cells with different formats (for example, one cell with italics, another with bold text) before clicking Paint format, all the formats will be copied in the same order when applied to other cells.

Clearing Formatting

Clear Formatting removes all styles and settings applied to the cells, returning them to their default appearance. This is useful when you need to reset the formatting and start fresh.

Select the cell or range of cells where you want to clear the formatting.

You can use several methods:

  • From the menu, click Format → Clear formatting;
  • Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + \ (Windows) or ⌘ + \ (Mac) to clear the formatting.

This action will remove all styles and formatting applied to the selected cells, including font, text color, font size, fill color, alignment, and other settings.

Everything was clear?

How can we improve it?

Thanks for your feedback!
