Copying and Deleting Columns and Rows
Copying Columns and Rows
Copying columns and rows allows you to duplicate data without changing its original placement.
Copying via Context Menu
Data can be copied using the Copy option in the context menu.
- Right-click on the header of the column or row you want to copy;
- Select Copy in the context menu;
- Go to the new location where you want to insert the column or row;
- Right-click on the header of the new location and select Paste.
Copying through Menu
Data can also be copied via the Copy command in the main menu.
- Select the column or row you want to copy;
- Go to the Edit menu → Copy;
- Go to the new location where you want to insert the copied column or row;
- Go to the Edit menu → Paste.
Copying with Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts allow you to quickly copy data without using the menu.
- Select the column or row you want to copy;
- Press Ctrl + C (Windows) or ⌘ + C (Mac) to copy;
- Go to the new location where you want to insert the copied column or row;
- Press Ctrl + V (Windows) or ⌘ + V (Mac) to paste.
Deleting Columns and Rows
Deleting columns and rows helps to clean up the sheet from unnecessary data.
Both methods work for any number of rows and columns.
Deleting via Context Menu
Data can be deleted by selecting the Delete option in the context menu.
- Select the column or row you want to delete by clicking its header;
- Right-click on the selected header;
- Select Delete column or Delete row in the context menu.
Deleting through Menu
Data can also be deleted using the Delete command in the main menu.
- Select the column or row you want to delete by clicking its header;
- Go to the Edit menu → Delete;
- Choose the deletion method:
- Values – deletes only the values;
- Column or Row – deletes the entire column or row.
