Accessing a Document from an Open Google Sheets Tab

A quick way to open a recently used file without searching elsewhere.

  • Click on the green Google Sheets icon;
  • Find the desired document in the list of recent files;
  • Click on the document to open it.

Accessing a Document via the File Menu

Use this method to access all saved documents, including those recently used or uploaded.

  • Open Google Sheets at sheets.google.com or in the Google Sheets app;
  • In the top menu, click FileOpen.
  • In the dialog box that appears, you will see several tabs:
    • Recent - contains a list of recently opened documents, convenient for quick access to recently used files;
    • My Drive - shows all documents saved on your Google Drive. Here you can find files organized in folders and subdirectories;
    • Shared with me - contains files and documents that have been shared with you by other users. You can open files available to you through sharing;
    • Starred - displays files and documents you have marked as favorites. This tab helps you quickly find important documents;
    • Computers - allows you to access files synced from your computers through Google Drive. Here you can find documents available on devices connected to your account;
    • Upload - allows you to upload files from your computer to Google Drive. You can select a file to upload and add it to your Google Drive or open it directly in Google Sheets.
