Custom Filter Views

In this chapter we will cover the topic of Custom Filter Views. You will learn how to create and save different filter settings, allowing you to easily switch between different data views. This is a convenient way to work with filters without having to set them up each time.

Creating Custom Filter

  • In the menu, go to DataCreate filter view;
  • In the new filter row, choose the column by which you want to filter the data;
  • Apply any filter;
  • Click Save view to save the custom filter;
  • Enter a name for the new custom filter in the Name this view field.

Applying Custom Filters

  • To switch between saved filters, go to DataFilter views and select the desired filter from the list;
  • To edit filter settings, go to the filter and select DataView options, or if you want to change the data display in the filter, simply go into it and modify the filter.

Example of Use

Open our spreadsheet with airline ratings data.

Go to DataCreate filter view.

  • Creating a filter for business class with good comfort:
    • Select the Seat Type column;
    • Select Filter by values → click Clear → check the box next to Business Class;
    • Then go to the Seat Comfort column;
    • Select Filter by conditionGreater than or equal to → enter 4;
    • Click Save view;
    • Name the filter Business class with good comfort.

Now you can switch to this filter to view airlines offering business class with high comfort.
