Now that you've explored Hootsuite's analytics and AI tools, it's time to put them into action. In this challenge, you'll use Hootsuite's AI-powered features to optimize three scheduled posts—improving engagement, saving time, and boosting your social media performance.

Whether you're creating content for a business or your personal brand, this task will help you apply what you've learned and level up your social strategy.

Step 1: Plan Three Upcoming Posts

  1. Go to your Planner in Hootsuite;
  2. Create or select three posts that you plan to schedule across the next week;
  3. Make sure they include a mix of content types—text, image, or link posts are all great.

Try to align them with an upcoming campaign, promotion, or general theme your audience cares about.

Step 2: Use the AI Caption Generator

For each post:

  1. Click Create → Content with AI;
  2. Enter your topic or prompt (e.g., "Promote our weekend sale – 25% off sitewide");
  3. Select a tone—such as casual, witty, or professional—to match your brand;
  4. Browse the AI-generated options and choose one that fits your message;
  5. Click Create Post, fine-tune the caption if needed, and schedule it.

Repeat this for all three posts. Try varying the tone or structure across the posts to see what resonates best.

Step 3: Enable "Best Time to Publish"

Before scheduling each post:

  1. Look for the "Best Time to Publish" option;
  2. Select it to let Hootsuite automatically pick the most effective time based on your account's engagement data.

This helps ensure your posts go out when your audience is most active.

Step 4: Monitor and Compare Performance

After the posts go live:

  1. Visit Analytics → Post Performance;
  2. Track how each AI-assisted post performs in terms of likes, clicks, shares, and comments;
  3. Take note of which captions and posting times worked best.

Use what you learn to guide your next round of content creation.

Bonus Tip

Try running a mini A/B test by creating two different AI captions for a single topic and comparing how each performs. This will give you deeper insight into which style your audience prefers.
