The table below highlights the key features of sets in Tableau:
Example: States with Negative Profit
To illustrate the power of sets, we'll create a set for states with negative profit.
Let's first create a bar chart of profit by state. Notice that some states have negative profits. To focus on these, you can select them by holding down the Ctrl key.
Now, let's combine the selected states into a single set by right-clicking on the selection, choosing Create > Set..., and naming it "Negatively Profitable States".
The set is now ready for use. In one of the following chapters, we’ll explore how to leverage it effectively.
