Understanding Utility Classes

Utility classes in Tailwind CSS are small, single-purpose classes that you can apply directly to HTML elements to style them. Each utility class corresponds to a specific CSS property and value, allowing you to build custom designs quickly without writing custom CSS.

Key Characteristics

  • Each utility class does one thing, such as setting a margin, padding, color, or font size;
  • You can combine multiple utility classes to achieve complex styles;
  • Using predefined utility classes ensures consistent styling across your project;
  • Tailwind provides responsive variants of utility classes to handle different screen sizes easily.
