Time Series Essentials
Working with Matplotlib
Now that we have explored our dataset and prepared it for our analysis we are going to plot the time series to see its overall trend.
Methods description
plt.figure(figsize= (width, height))
: This function creates a new figure for plotting with the specified size. Thefigsize
parameter sets the width and height of the figure in inches;plt.plot(data)
: This function plots the data contained in the DataFramedata
. It accepts various arguments to customize the plot, such as color, linestyle, marker, etc;plt.xlabel(label)
: This function sets the label for the x-axis of the plot. The stringlabel
specifies the label text;plt.ylabel(label)
: This function sets the label for the y-axis of the plot. The stringlabel
specifies the label text;plt.title(title)
: This function sets the title of the plot. The stringtitle
specifies the title text.
Task
- Use the
matplotlib
library to plotdf
. - Create an
xlabel
with'Years'
. - Create an
ylabel
with'No of Air Passengers'
.
