Fill and Stroke Settings

  • Select a shape and go to the Properties Panel under the Appearance section to adjust the fill and stroke;
  • By default, a shape can have no fill. You can change the fill color by clicking the color swatch and selecting from the available colors;
  • Stroke refers to the outline of the shape, and its color and thickness can be adjusted similarly;
  • The stroke's thickness can be changed using the arrows in the Properties Panel or by manually inputting a value;
  • You can also adjust fill and stroke colors from the Tools Bar. Double-click on the fill or stroke icons to pick specific colors or swap them using a small arrow icon. The default setting is a white fill with a black stroke (Shortcut is "D");
  • By accessing the stroke settings, you can adjust the alignment of the stroke (centered, inside, or outside the path); you can also modify the cap and corner settings for lines, such as choosing between rounded ends, butt caps (ending at anchor points), or projecting caps (extending beyond anchor points), and you can change the corner options for sharp, rounded, or beveled corners;
  • You can enable dashed lines by checking the "Dash Line" option, where you can specify the dash and gap lengths. You can also add arrowheads to your lines and customize the arrow size, style, and positioning at the start and end of the line;
  • The width profile option lets you create varying thickness along a stroke. You can select different profiles;
  • The Width Tool in the Tools Bar allows manual adjustment of stroke thickness at various points along the path. You can click and drag to create custom shapes. Also, by double-clicking on the width points, you can input specific values to adjust the width on both sides of the stroke path;
  • Custom stroke profiles can be saved by going to the Profile dropdown menu under the stroke settings and selecting "Add to Profiles." You can name the profile for future use;
  • Profiles can also be deleted if needed, and stroke appearances can be flipped using the "Flip Along" option, which reverses the start and end of the stroke.
