bookUsing AI as a Build Copilot

AI refers to using an LLM (Large Language Model) externally to help plan, structure, and debug Make.com scenarios faster and with fewer mistakes.

AI as a practical build partner rather than a novelty. The goal is speed with accuracy: using an LLM to reduce cognitive load, tighten logic, and prevent weak assumptions from sneaking into scenario design. Two core uses are introduced:

  • Using an LLM to design and refine scenario logic and prompt instructions.
  • Using an LLM to write and debug code for Make.com code modules.

Importantly, the LLM is not wired into Make yet. It is used outside the platform during the build process.

When building scenarios, the same questions come up repeatedly: how data should be transformed, how items should be classified or ranked, and what format each module should output. Instead of inventing rules from scratch, an LLM can generate structured logic and clear instruction blocks.

A practical prompt pattern is to state the scenario purpose, specify the transformation goal, require a concise and professional style, require factual output without fabrication, and include a key instruction to ask clarifying questions before answering.

Note
Note

Without explicit instruction, an LLM will assume missing details. In automation, assumptions often become bugs.

question mark
