Adding Products to a Shopify Store
Svep för att visa menyn
This is the section payoff. You are chaining everything you have built so far: the organized Drive folder from Chapter 4.2 and the competitor research sheet from Chapter 4.3.
Now you will use both as context for an agent that can add products to a real Shopify store.
No manual product uploads. No copy-pasting descriptions. You describe what you are selling, point the agent at your research, and let it build the product listings for you.
The Scenario
You are launching a Shopify store.
You already have:
- A folder of brand and product materials in Google Drive
- A competitor research sheet from Chapter 4.3
- A Shopify store that exists but has no products yet
You want the agent to read both sources, create strategically positioned products, and add them as live listings.
The agent should:
- Connect to Shopify and confirm the store is accessible.
- Read your Google Drive folder to understand your brand, product direction, and positioning.
- Read the competitor Google Sheet from Chapter 4.3 to understand the competitive landscape and price anchoring.
- Create products that are strategically positioned against your competitors, including names, descriptions, price points, and available branding details.
- Add those products to your Shopify store as live listings.
Connectors used: Shopify, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
Connecting Shopify
If you have not connected Shopify yet, the flow is the same as every other connector:
Plus icon → Connectors → Manage Connectors → Browse Connectors
Find Shopify and click Connect.
Shopify will route you to its website to authenticate. You will need a Shopify account, and even a free trial works.
Log in, approve the connection, and return to Cowork. Once you see the green check, Shopify is connected.
Every app has a slightly different authentication flow, but the pattern is the same:
- Click Connect.
- Get routed to the app's website.
- Create an account or log in.
- Approve the permissions.
- Return to Cowork with the connector active.
