Creating Essential Pages

Now that your plugins are installed and configured, it's time to build the core structure of your website using real content.

In this chapter, you'll customize the following pages:

  • Home: highlight your clinic's main services, add testimonials, and include a clear call-to-action;

  • About: share your clinic's mission, background, and introduce team members;

  • Services: list and describe your clinic's offerings with images or icons;

  • Contact: include the pre-installed contact form, phone number, and a Google Maps location;

  • Blog: add a page that will automatically display your latest blog posts.

Content Preparation

To speed up the process, we've prepared a .docx file with sample content and a folder containing optimized images.
All images were resized and compressed to follow the best practices covered earlier in the course.

You can copy and paste the content into each page, using the Block Editor to adjust the layout as needed.

Tip: when pasting content into the Block Editor, hold Shift while pressing Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) to paste plain text.
This prevents WordPress from copying over unwanted styles from Google Docs or other sources—keeping your formatting clean and consistent.

Updating Existing Pages

The Astra template you imported already includes the Home, About, Services, and Contact pages.

To update them:

  1. Go to Pages → All Pages and click Edit under each one;
  2. Replace the placeholder text with the content from the .docx file;
  3. Swap the images with your optimized versions;
  4. For the Contact page, keep the form already provided by the theme—no need to recreate it manually.
Creating and Assigning a Blog Page

To display blog posts on your website:

  1. Go to Pages → Add New and create a new page called Blog;
  2. Then navigate to Settings → Reading;
  3. Under Posts page, select Blog from the dropdown and click Save Changes.

This will automatically list all blog posts on the Blog page.

Creating Example Blog Posts

Now that your Blog page is set up, let's create a few example posts so you can see how everything works in practice.

You've already learned how to:

  • Create posts using the Block Editor;
  • Add blocks like images and videos;
  • Organize your content with categories and tags.

For this example, we'll create three types of posts:

  • A standard blog post, including structured text with headings (H1, H2, H3), images, an embedded video, tags, and a category;
  • A scheduled post, which will be published automatically on a future date and time;
  • A password-protected post, accessible only to users who have the password.

Each post will be added to your Blog page automatically and will follow the structure and features you've already learned. This is a great way to reinforce your skills while exploring some additional WordPress options like scheduling and visibility control.
