Perplexity Computer is Perplexity's agent. It is a cloud-based system that takes a goal from you and actually goes out to complete it. It can research, build a report, create a spreadsheet, design a deck, or deploy a small app from a single prompt.

Computer works by coordinating across different AI models and choosing the right one for each part of the job.

The easiest way to think about it is this: Comet is the browser. Computer is the agent.

Comet is what you use to point at the web. Computer is what does the work. They are two different products, but both live inside the Perplexity ecosystem.

• Take a multi-step research task and run it end-to-end, from researching the topic to writing the report, formatting it, and delivering the PDF.
• Build dashboards, spreadsheets, and small apps from a description.

It runs in the cloud, not on your machine. Which means it can keep working on something while your laptop is closed. But also means it doesn't have direct access to your local files the way Cowork does.
